User Experience Designer

Overview

We are seeking a User Experience Designer to join our clients team in London. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of engaging, accessible products and an excellent user experience to our global customer base of academic institutions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct user experience research to understand user journeys and needs
  • Translate research findings into clear designs and documentation
  • Produce designs to assist with user research, internal discussion, and presentations to stakeholders
  • Work on continuous improvement of interface design, basic UX writing, usability testing, and interaction flows
  • Collaborate with Editorial leads and Product Managers on new product proposals
  • Analyze web usage data to optimize user journeys
  • Ensure compliance with established and emerging accessibility criteria
  • Identify improvements to the team’s processes and workflow
  • Promote the importance of User Experience within the wider company

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience of user experience work
  • Ability to understand the specific needs of a varied user base
  • Cross-functional team collaboration, including stakeholder management
  • Proactive, “can-do” attitude, with a keen curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Excellent eye for nuance and a logical, problem-solving approach
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and visual)

Day-to-day

The User Experience Designer will collaborate closely with the Product Management and Technology teams, developing, evaluating, and iterating the user experience together. They will also work on a programme of continuous improvement, encompassing interface design within a tested and established design language, basic UX writing, usability testing, and interaction flows.
