Content Architect
London / Hybrid
£65,000 per annum + bonus and benefits

Deerfoot Recruitment is partnering with a leading publishing client to find an experienced Content Architect to join their digital content team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with strong publishing production experience and technical expertise to lead a team in the delivery of high-quality content across digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive the development and management of XML content and metadata workflows, ensuring optimal efficiency in content processing.
• Lead initiatives to optimize systems and coding, particularly for handling large document collections.
• Provide technical and operational leadership to a team of Content Analysts, ensuring content and metadata meet quality standards and are delivered to schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and product management, to balance business priorities and long-term content strategy.
• Maintain and enhance unit testing frameworks within a continuous integration environment.
• Provide technical leadership in the creation and management of digital content production workflows.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Extensive publishing production experience, with a strong understanding of XML, schemas, and the structure of complex XML documents.
• Expertise in XML tools and languages, including XQuery 3.1, XSLT 3.0, and Schematron (essential).
• Familiarity with RELAX NG, XSD, DTD, and scripting languages such as Python.
• Proven line management experience, including managing geographically dispersed teams to improve efficiency and meet deadlines.
• Strong experience with source code version control systems, particularly Git.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Ability to provide a consultative perspective to stakeholders.
