Build and Deployment Engineer

Day Rate Contract - Inside IR35
Are you an experienced Build and Deployment Engineer with a strong background in managing CI/CD pipelines, deployment orchestration, and source code management? As a trusted recruitment partner, we're looking for a skilled Build & Deployment Engineer to support and maintain critical systems and services within the Build and Deployment function for our international banking client. If you're ready to work in a fully onsite position based in London, contributing to architectural improvements and ensuring platform stability, this could be the role for you.
This position requires technical expertise in tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory, ServiceNow, Linux, Windows operating systems, and version-controlled repositories like GitHub or Subversion. You will play a pivotal role in supporting application teams, driving policy implementation, and leading Build and Deployment projects while adhering to governance and risk management frameworks.
Your Role
- Managing Build and Deployment Requests/Incidents, ensuring alignment with strategy.
- Maintaining stability of the Build and Deployment platform toolsets.
- Supporting architectural improvements and rolling out new technologies/tools for the team.
- Implementing policies and procedures aligned with Service Transition team objectives.
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure feedback is incorporated into policies and initiatives.
- Leading Build and Deployment projects assigned by management.
- Providing technical assistance for onboarding new technologies onto the platform.
- Acting as the main Point of Contact in the absence of the Head of Build and Deployment team.
- Representing the team in CAB meetings and submitting audit evidence when required.
- Identify and manage risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
About You
- Proven experience in build/system integration tooling (e.g., TeamCity, Jenkins, Artifactory) and methodologies.
- Expertise in secure version-controlled source code repositories (e.g., GitHub/Subversion).
- Strong background in release preparation/delivery management.
- A track record of delivering programs/projects that enhance IT service delivery.
- Experience working with vendors/third-party suppliers.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow workflows and CI/CD best practices.
- Knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems.
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks helpful.
